Little girl: ”Ouchieeeee! ”

The girl ran frantically without looking at what was ahead of her, leading her to hit her head on Miless chest.

The kid was now lying on the ground, massaging her head.

While the kid was massaging her head, Miles took a good look at the kid.

To Miles, the kid was obviously a beggar. The kid was wearing nothing but rags. A tattered cloth, with ripped sleeves, and the overall clothes of the girl was stained so much that Miles could barely tell what substance it was.

The kid was skinny, not skinny enough to see the bones, but skinny enough to say that she was not eating properly.

The only peculiar thing about this kid was her hair. A green-colored hair.

Miles thought to himself. How was she able to afford the money to dye her hair?

Though curious, Miles decided not to think about it and helped her get up.

Smiling warmly as he could, Miles offered his hand to the girl.

Miles: ”Im sorry, kid, I did not see you there. ”

The little girl stopped massaging the back of her head and looked at the man in front of him.

She felt stupid to run straight and tripped on the man in front of her.

Little girl: ”Uwawawawawawa! ”

She was embarrassed that she covered her eyes, not daring to look at him.

She forgot to speak like a human being and produced a cute, flustered sound.

Cute

Miles thought to himself when he saw the little girl clumsily covering her eyes because she was too embarrassed.

After a while, she took Miless hand and got herself up.

She took a long breath to calm herself down, and like any reasonable person would do, she bowed her head down and apologized.

Little girl: ”I-Im s-so sorry, s-sir! I was not looking properly because I thought I was all alone in this town. ”

The little girl fumbled a lot of words before she could properly apologize and gave an excuse for the mistake she made.

Miles scoffs at her lazy excuse.

This town was bustling with people even at night.

It even seemed this entire area was crowded.

Miles looked at the little girl quizzically, wondering about her obvious lie.

Then Miles came to an understanding.

I see! Shes saying that these people are so snobbish that she disregarded them as a person.

Miles made an impression that he understood the line of thought of the little girl because Miles, too, would ignore these snobbish people.

e snobbish!? Ill snob at you as well, hmph!

Miles imagined the girl telling those exact lines while furiously turning her head sideways while sulking.

A cute and petty mindset that Miles thought suited the little girl, so he gave her a nod of recognition.

Miles: ”I understand, kid. Those people deserve to be ignored. Did you know they ignored me as well? I was just asking questions. The rudeness of the people here, I swear. You know what? Ill ignore them too. ”

Miles gave a thumbs up to the young girl, but all Miles received was a little girls tilted head full of question marks and a look of confusion.

The little girl decided to ignore the young mans incoherent chatter and decided to go on her merry way.

Little girl: ”A-any way, s-sir, Im sorry about earlier, but Im about to go now. ”

She turned her back against Miles and walked ahead.

Seeing the little girl walk away, Miles suddenly realized that she was the only person willing to talk to him, so without hesitation, he called her back.

Miles needed answers.

He did not know this place and how he got here. Maybe this little child has information on how he can get back to his place.

Miles: ”Wait, kid! WAIT! ”

Miles shouted as the little girl had already made a considerable distance between them, hoping his shout could reach her.

The little girl looked back at Miles as she heard Miless shout.

Little girl: ”Im so sorry, Sir! ”

The little girl misunderstood the young man and thought the man was unsatisfied with the apology, so she bowed even deeper and shouted for forgiveness.

Miles walked towards her.

Miles: ”No, no. Im not looking for an apology, kid. I already accepted your apology earlier. ”

Miles said while putting a dismissive wave to imply that the apology was not what he called her for.

Miles: ”Actually, I was hoping to ask some questions. Would that be alright? ”

Little girl: ”Of course, Sir! Ask right away. ”

The little girl bowed once more trying to be respectful to the young man.

Miles decided to bombard her with questions since she is the only person he can ask, though Miles plans to compensate her.

Miles: ”Okay kid, first question. Where are we? ”

Little girl: ”Sir, we are in Town Rodens. ”

Miles: ”Okay, cool, but what city are we in? So I could just google my way home. ”

Little girl: ”Whats a google? ”

Miles realized his mistake.

The girl was obviously poor, saying stuff she doesn know would make him insensitive.

How dare I flaunt my privileged ass!

Miles coughed and answered her in the least entitled way.

Miles: ”Ehem! You see kid, google is like an object that holds every information. You see here…..! ”

While Miles was explaining what google is, he was trying to find his phone on the left side of his pocket, only to touch nothing but air.

Miles was now worried about his phone.

He fears he would not be able to get back home without googles guidance. He also feared his father smacking the shit out of him for losing his phone.

He could already hear his fathers voice in his mind, saying, Do you know how much money we spent on your phone!, Do you think we
e some kind of bank that could miraculously give you money to buy another phone!.

If that happens, then he would rather be lost in this town and live a new life.

Of course, he was only kidding and still frantically cups all sides of his pockets to find his phone.

Then it hit him.

He realized he dropped his phone all while back when he had that migraine.

It weirded the little girl out when the man in front of her stopped his explanation mid-way.

The little girl watched Miles frantically, finding something in his pants.

Curious, she asked the young man.

Little girl: ”Sir, what are you looking for? ”

Miles: ”My phone. ”

Again, the girl was confused about the unknown words that the young man kept saying.

She looked at the young man properly.

The man has smooth skin and smells like flowers. The man was also wearing a clean black shirt. A maroon-colored pants that does not seem that it was made locally. A shirt that has outlines of muscles, it was obvious the man in front of her was muscular. She blushed and looked away awkwardly, as she thought it was rude to look at him longer.

There is only one thing that the little girl understood, that the very man in front of her was a noble.

How else would he have clean clothes and a pleasant smell?

Though the man has muscles, his hands barely had calluses, and it was safe to assume that he had an easy life.

She also saw Miless black eye but decided to pay it no heed, as she believes it was insensitive of her to ask personal questions, especially to a noble like him.

The young girl is not afraid of the young mans ire as the man himself looks very gentle and kind, but one ought to be always respectful to nobles, or the consequences will be dire.

As a commoner, it was her duty to aid the rich and the elite.

Little girl: ”Should I help you, Sir? ”

Miles: ”No, no, its okay, thank you. ”

Miles: ”Im sorry about that. Lets just continue our last conversation. Basically, google is a device that would help me get back home—. ”

Little girl: ”Like magic!? Sir, if you are using a magical device, are you perhaps a sage? ”

The little girls enthusiastic question cut Miles off.

A sage? Aren those old people with vast knowledge on magic? Damn, I just got called an old person by a little girl.

Miles dejectedly said in his thoughts as the remark he was old had hurt him.

Miles thought it was cute for a little girl to call him a sage, so he played along.

Miles: ”Yes, I am in fact, a sage. ”

Miles said as he thumped his chest to show how great of a sage he was.

If he was going to be called an old magical person, then it was okay. He thought of Gandalf, who was an old magical person and one of the coolest characters in the movie, though Gandalf was a wizard, not a sage.

It amazed the little girl that the man was not just any noble but was, in fact, a sage. Her eyes glimmered with astonishment.

Miles saw the eyes of the little girl glimmering and thought she was cute.

Miles: ”Yes, I am a sage that uses a magical device that guides me back to my place. Unfortunately, I lost my phone on the way here, and I cannot cast my magical google. That is why I need your guidance in getting me out of this town. ”

Little girl: ”Do not worry, Sir. Ellia here would help you get out of this town. ”

The little girl was called Ellia, and she cutely saluted Miles.

To Miles, the action that Ellia did was shattering her cuteness scale so much that he couldn help himself to pat her head.

Miles was grinning like an idiot because he could no longer hold his smile and wanted to pat this cute kids head.

Miles: ”Nice to meet you, Ellia. My name is Miles. ”

Ellia: ”Nice to meet you as well, Sir Miles. ”

Miles: ”Not Sir, Just Miles. ”

Ellia: ”My bad, — M-Miles? ”

Ellia unsurely said while akwardly smiling.

To Ellia, it was weird to talk to someone higher than her informally, but nonetheless, she greatly accepted it.

Miles stopped patting her head and continued to ask questions.

Miles: ”So, do you know how to get out of this place? ”

Ellia: ”Of course, Miles! ”

Ellia looked behind and pointed to the enormous gate.

Ellia: ”Behind us are those big gates over there. You could directly get out of this town if the gates were open. Though it was closed before the sun had set, were you perhaps unable to evacuate? ”

Miles: ”…You could say so. ”

Miles unsurely said.

He was curious about how he was able to get into this town if the gates were closed before evening.

Miles: ”Why were they evacuated? ”

Ellia: ”Im sorry, Miles, but it was also not explained to us. The priests and knights only escorted the townspeople to evacuate. ”

Miles: ”— I understand. ”

He was now a little dispirited, knowing he had to stay in this town for a little while.

Then he noticed how the girl used her words.

Miles: ”Excuse me, knights and priests? Isn it the polices duty to evacuate people? ”

Ellia: ”Police? ”

Ellia tilted her head when she heard another unknown word.

Miles realized he had asked a useless question and asked a different question instead.

Miles: ”When you say that the townspeople were evacuated, did you mean all people evacuated? ”

Ellia: ”Apart from you, All people were evacuated. ”

Miles: ”Impossible. The town was full of people. You even ran past them. ”

Again Ellia tilted her head, looking confused at Miless question.

Ellia: ”There were no people here. I was running recklessly because I thought I wouldn run to any person. ”

Ellia: ” — But if there are, then I need my eyes checked. Hehe! ”

Ellia scratched her head while she cutely laughed.

She believes in Miles that there could be more people not yet evacuated, and Miles was the proof of it. Maybe she ran past a couple of people and was too blind to see it.

On the other hand, Miles believes in Ellia. The people he had spoken to previously were not acting normal. It was like they were undead walking. Those eyes of those people were lifeless and unresponsive. When he saw them, it reminded him of the Moon Eye. He concluded it was another hallucination like the Moon.

To make sure that it was not a hallucination, Miles looked around at his surroundings and found no people in the area.

Maybe thats why no one was talking to me. Im talking to a **ing hallucination.

Before I go home, I need to buy Meds. This migraine is **ing up my brain real bad.

Miles reminded himself to buy medicines as the creepy hallucination that he kept having really bothered him.

Miles: ” — No, you
e right. There are no people here. Maybe Im too hungry to think properly, hahaha! ”

Miles said as he awkwardly scratched his hair.

Miles: ”Anyway, what I wanted to ask is, do you know any other way to get out of this town. I do not want to be holed up in this place for the entire night. ”

Ellia: ”Of course. Actually, I just recently snuck into this place. Ehe! ”

She smiled ditzy with her tongue out.

Miles: ”Really! Does that mean theres a way out? ”

Ellia: ”Of course, Miles! Just go straight ahead in the gates direction. Once you reach the gate, turn right and just keep walking. There should be an abandoned stall there. Go to the abandoned stall and remove the wooden boxes with red x marks on them. I put the boxes there to hide the huge hole in the wall. I entered there and hid the hole with the wooden boxes. ”

Miles: ”Thank you! Ill go there now! ”

Miles excitedly ran in the gates direction. Once he gets out of here, hell find a taxi so he can finally go home or go to his friends house.
