Tyrant Of Rome

Negotiations

Flavius had ordered his troops to spread out. Some to the left and some to the right. He made a group of solider for the purpose to divert the the attention of the main army.

He looked at the small cavalry unit he had, about 100 or so soldiers were there. He was going to distract the main army and then divert the army that defended the Huns flank.

He then ordered all his men to get into position. What was next to come would change history forever.

”Atilla I see a few Roman soldiers over there! ”

Atilla saw the Romans running towards 2 decently sized hills.

”Changetz, do you think thats where all the Romans are hiding? ”

Changetz frowned.

”Atilla are you stupid? That looks like a trap! ”

Atilla understood Changetz but what could a couple thousand soldiers do to his 200,000 strong soldiers? As he was thinking this he saw Roman cavalry behind him. He then ordered one of his officers to terminate the cavalry unit.

”Atilla do those Romans think they can flank us from the behind? Those idiots! ”

Atilla looked perplexed. Did the Romans really think those cavalries could stop him? The great Atilla? The one who conquered the Germania? Something even the Romans themselves couldn do.

The 100 cavalry unit were followed by 70,000 troops. They purposely led them into a trap made by the Romans. The Romans were by chased into the night Rhine. Arrows flew threw the sky knocking all of the 7,000 horsemen of their horse. The Roman cavalry took the opportunity to use use their spears

and to eliminate as many people as possible.

The Romans initially had the upper hand from the suprise attack from the archers but that only lasted for a few minutes as the Romans knew they couldn defeat the 70,000 strong Hunnic army. Even with these extreme odds the Romans pushed on.

”No surrender, fight for Motherland! ”

The Roman cavalry had been reduced to 30 as the battle continued. The Roman cavalry had eliminated 500 or so people. The archers who were at a modest 200 were quite a headache for the Hunnic-Mongol alliance.

Flavius seeing the battle unfold knew that it was a matter of time before the Huns knew where the archers were stationed. So he looked at who he assumed to be the leader of the this group of Huns.

”Every archer shoot at the man whos at the one at the right watching the battle! ”

The archers shot and killed the unsuspecting man at in his neck. The Huns and Mongols seeing this panicked and broke their ranks. Fleeing to where they chased the Romans from.

Flavius did not let them go away in peace, he ordered the archers to shoot at the Huns.

”General Flavius! Our Melee troops have been found! ”

General Flavius who was celebrating his victory was suddenly tense. If the Huns found out where he hid his troops then that would also mean his main army would be wiped out. When his main troops were wiped out it would mean he only had about 200 archers and 30 horsemen.

Flavius hoped that the emperor would send something to help them but it was weeks since he sent the report to the emperor. Why wasn his majesty replying?

Roman was a some what smart guy and he knew that he could pay the Huns to stop attacking, even if it was for only a while. He ordered around 20,000 guards and a translator. He would make peace with Atilla and the Mongol army and maybe even bribe the nomads into helping them defeat the Eastern Romans. But bribing them was out of the question because Romes treasury was running out.

Roman had set out on his journey to make peace. Could he achieve peace between the Romans and the nomads?
