We finally entered the boss room around 1pm after our break, when we did we saw that the bamboo man was rolling around on his segway near the center of the room.

“I’m ready to go!”

After taking the Magic Return A Hannah was raring to go.

“First let me pull aggro.
{Guard Stance}”

[T/N: I changed the symbol I used to indicate skills and magic and stuff because I don’t actually have the previous symbols on my keyboard and had them pinned in discord.
So it’s easier to use different ones.]

“Don’t get too close together! Make sure you leave space so that you can move freely!”

Ciara pulled aggro as I issued instructions, if we group up the area that we can move in which we can move to dodge and attack will go down significantly.
Meaning that the chances of us taking unnecessary damage will go up.
The bamboo man doesn’t really target anyone it just performs a rush attack so as long as you’re able to get out of the way you don’t have to worry about being ran over and taking damage.

“Bibibibibi!”

The bamboo man rushed straight at Ciara.

“{Fire Guard} {Freeze Guard}!”

“{Guardian’s blessing} {Rain of life}!”

Ciara used her skills to negate 20% of the damage that would be dealt from the attributes while Rana boosts her defence and casts recovery magic to heal any damage that Ciara might receive.

“Attack! Deal as much damage as you can before it starts moving again! {Hero’s sword}!”

“I’ll buff you! {Lion’s Blessing}{Protection of the holy devil}!”

“Hyah! {Long Thrust}{Precious Thrust}{Lance assault}!”

The initial attack from the boss is fixed and it doesn’t do it’s rush attack immediately.
So it was held in place for a moment by Ciara as we all piled on with our own attacks.
Hannahs attacks were pretty good, although she still wasn’t as powerful as Rana her Fireballs now had a cooldown time of only three seconds.

“{Shield Smite}!”

“Biiiiiiiii!”

“Aguh!”

“Ciara! Don’t force yourself to attack until you’ve gotten used to how the boss moves! Just concentrate on dealing with its attacks for now!”

“….Okay!”

Seeing the aggro slowly be pulled away from her by everyone attacking it Ciara tried to pull it back to her but got a little greedy trying to deal damage of her own.
As such she suffered a counter attack that caused her shield smite to fail.

Shield smite is a very useful skill that is capable of dealing damage as well as pulling aggro.
However if used incorrectly a counterattack could cause a critical down meaning that the enemy can deal massive amounts of damage to you quickly as you try to pick yourself up.
My point is, with its narrow attack range shield smite this boss is a bad opponent to try and shield bash.

“{Provocation}!”

The behavior suddenly changed as Ciara suddenly repulled aggro.

“It’s going to rush! Everyone be careful!”

Because of the way the boss rushes around the room a tank isn’t able to stop it, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t counter measures.

“{Sonic Sword}! {Hate slash}!”

“Bibii!?”

As it rushed near me I used sonic sword to dash forward and hit it, then with the momentum I was able to use another skill as well.
Hate slash is a provocation attack so it’s similar to Ciara’s Shield smite in that it pulls aggro.

“{Appeal}!”

I activated another skill with the intention of changing the target from Ciara to myself.

“Bibibi!”

“I’m over here! {Defense}!”

“Bii!?”

Bamboo man charged me with his axe but I knew the timing well and used defense to help me earn a defensive victory on the boss and knock it back.

“{Hero’s Sword}!”

“Biii!?”

Once you achieve a knockback, if you can quickly deal a lot of damage while it is still being affected by the knockback, you can sometimes down your opponent.
And Hero’s sword managed to do just that.

“Attack it now!”

“Yaaa! {Long Thrust}!”

Ester was closer to me and was the first to attack.
I was only betting on this combo working because it had worked in the game but, the way that the rush was stopped in the game was when it was targeting someone and began to do its rush around the room if you caused it to switch targets the AI would restart and it would end its rush.
It would instead do a normal attack with the axes which I knew the timing of well.
I was surprised to see that it worked just like it did in the game but that didn’t mean that I was going to miss the opportunity to down it.

“Bibibibi!”

Ciara had to use two of her skills to earn aggro since I downed it.
If you down an enemy you end up pulling a significant amount of aggro so one skill wasn’t going to be enough.
I decided to avoid attacking it again until the cool down on Ciara’s skills had finished since if I dealt too much damage I would end up pulling aggro again.
After that we continued this process with no one being ran over by it until we got its HP down into the red.

“Biribiribiri!”

“It’s Thunder Daddy mode!”

“I’ll bury you Thunder Daddy!”

Why was Ester being so intense!? What happened in the past that I don’t know about?”

“Aim for the Segway! {Hero’s Sword}!”

Everyone concentrated their attacks on the segway causing it to break and the boss to fall over.
But then something that I wasn’t expecting happened.
It stood up and took off running like an olympic athlete.

It can run!?

While I stood in shock it headed directly for it’s target, Hannah.

“Hannah!”

Hannah was the one who ended up destroying the segway with her flamelance so she had pulled aggro causing her to be the target of it’s charge.

“{Cover shield}!”

As reliable as ever Ciara dove in front of Hannah causing the Bamboo man to run directly into her shield and knocked it over.”

“You’re a goddess Ciara! {Sonic sword}!”

“Hya! {Lance assault}!”

“We have a chance, Everyone attack!”

Thanks to the opening that Ciara gave us everyone was able to attack the boss with everything they had causing its HP to drop to 0 before it could get up and it disappeared.
