[End of the Original Game]

A certain room in the adventurer’s academy, the moonlight was shining through the window, illuminating the room dimly.

It was the room used by the vice-principal of the academy, a middle-aged woman named ‘Milia Heikkila’, as her office.

“~~~! ~~, ~~~!!”

Right now, the owner of the office, Heikkila, had a hand blocking her mouth and suspending her up in the air.

The owner of the hand was the demon-kin, Luisina Mateos.

She was rummaging the office as she pleased while stretching out a long third arm, like a snake, from the back of her wide-open crimson dress to restrain Heikkila.

“To not accurately grasping those guys’ movements despite being their collaborator (sponsor), just how much of a dunce are you? You should put together some useful information in a document somewhere!” (Luisina)

What Luisina needed was the information regarding the ‘Black Sword’, to which she belonged before.

She knew their past information, but as for their present information, she had not a slightest clue.

That was why she was trying to get it from Heikkila, the Black Sword’s collaborator at the academy.

(I thought that it if they were hiding in the academy, they would react in some form when I walked around the academy openly, but it was in vain.
What a waste of time.)

Recently, Luisina had been thinking that her old home, the Black Sword, was a hindrance to her future freedom.

After all, most of her life was spent there.
She did not know what kind of trouble she would be dragged into if it was revealed.

She was now treated as having died in the opera house incident officially, but that did not mean she could depend on that fact and live without a care.

That was why she thought it was best to settle her past blemishes in order to walk a new, clean life, and she thus put the thought into action.

That being said, the result was not good.

Although she found from Heikkila’s secret accounts that she had been embezzling a little bit of the academy’s materials after the opera house incident, but she couldn’t find anything more than that.

(If they were severely damaged, it wouldn’t be weird if they either take a bunch of materials all at once to recover, or they could receive a slow and continuous supply of materials from embezzling while waiting for things to cool down.
I think I’d be able to find their whereabouts if I were to search where the embezzled materials go to, but… are they really not in the academy?)

Despite being the way she was, Luisina was still an executive of the ‘Black Sword’.
She naturally knew where their safehouses for emergency case were located.

Based on that, she thought that they were likely to be lurking somewhere in the academy, but they did not make a move even though she had revealed her presence during the academy festival.
Considering that, they might really not be hiding in the academy.

“Ahhh~, so bothersooome…… so bothersomeeeee! Ahhh! Moooouuu~!!” (Luisina)

After diving onto the guest sofa and laying down on it, she screamed and groaned, spitting out her dissatisfaction.

To her it was just something she did to relax, but to Heikkila who did not know that, she only looked like a child who was throwing a tantrum.

As she did not know when her dissatisfaction would be directed at her, Heikkila, not being able to do anything, just kept staring at Luisina below while trembling with trepidation.

“Hey, you.
Do you really not know anything about their whereabouts? Since you were embezzling materials, then must have come here at one point, right? You have at least a clue as to their whereabouts, don’t you?” (Luisina)

“~~! ~~~~!”

“An-swer-me-.” (Luisina)

She moved her third arm, continuously shaking Heikkila violently in the air.

Sometimes, she took advantage of the fluid trait of her body to push her arm from Heikkila’s mouth and nose to the back of her throat and drive her to the brink of suffocation.

After repeating it several times, Luisina came to a realization, “Ah, of course you can’t answer if I block your mouth,”, and released Heikkila.

Having fell with a thud, Heikkila coughed violently many times while turning a resentment-filled gaze at Luisina.

Feeling irritated by that, Luisina once again grabbed and lifted Heikkila with her third arm, then repeated the same torture over and over again.

“Geho!? Goho goho! Kagh!”

“The next one will make it the 6th time, right?” (Luisina)

“W-wait! ‘Nanashino faction’ did come to the academy! But his tracks disappeared all of a sudden!” (Heikkila)

“There’s no way a group of people could disappear suddenly.
You’re still looking down on me, I see.” (Luisina)

“It’s true! They suddenly disappeared after receiving the materials! I searched for them too! If those guys who have part ways from you, the ‘main faction’, get caught, it’ll be the end of the road for me, but I can’t find them! All 73 members of ‘Nanashino faction’! Anywhere!” (Meikkila)

“Hmm.” (Luisina)

Luisina was inwardly tilting her head, “Main faction?”, but she decided to keep her mouth shut because she thought it would be convenient for her to misunderstand if it could make her speak.

“Nanashino, Pygmalion, Asanaga… they went along well, didn’t they?” (Luisina)

After listening to Heikkila’s story, Luisina secured documents summarizing her weaknesses and set out on her way home.

From her former espionage experience, she decided that it was better to make her submit by seizing her weaknesses than to kill her so as not to cause a ruckus.

With the separation of Nanashino faction, the main faction led by the original boss of the ‘Black Sword’ had further weakened in power.

Nanashino faction had appeared at the academy but was currently in hiding, but she discovered the current location of the main faction’s base, so she was thinking of going to get rid of them first.

For Heikkila to mistake her as the liaison from the main faction, it could be said to be a fortunate event for Luisina.

Despite having reaffirmed once again of the convenience of the skill that could make others fell into charmed state, she shoved it in the corner of her mind with the intention of not relying on it.

“Still, just where have they disappeared to, I wonder? But since there’s no track of them turning up, they should still be in the city at least.” (Luisina)

They might have disappeared from the academy, but even so, they couldn’t have left the city.

And if they were hiding, their original base had been exploded to bits and the knights should have set up a defense around it.

In that case, the only place where they could be hiding in that she could think of was one the safehouses that were scattered around the city, but they were just sort of temporary shelters.

They were neither a place to store the materials they had received nor a place where as many as 73 people could stay at for a long time.

“If only Nanashino’s subordinates go crazy and come to attack me, then I’d be able to catch them and make them spit out the information, but… well, Pygmalion will never allow such idiocy come to pass.
He’s the type that has a terrible face but the most serious at work, after all.” (Luisina)

While sighing because the only lead she had had been cut off, she changed her mood.
In any case, she had the main faction to deal with in the near future.

After handing over the documents about Heikkila to guys from the Thieves Guild introduced by Sakurai, she planned to get their help to get rid of the main faction, if possible.

“Ahh, that’s right.
I have to tell this to Julia.
As for the proof… well, if I peel off his mask on the spot, it would work out somehow.” (Julia)

Luisina muttered while thinking of the status of the boss of the ‘Black Sword’ among the society.

If Luisina Mateos was the earliest demon-kin born from the demonization technology, albeit accidentally, the other party was a natural demon-kin born from drinking the blood of monsters and eating their fleshes.

That demon-kin who continued to eat monsters with the trait similar to that of Immortal Jellyfishhad lifespan so long to the point of having no equal, and was specialized only in survival.[1]

That person, who had exceeded 500 years of age, had been sitting in the aristocratic position for many years by repeatedly faking his death and making use of his ability to rejuvenate, but he was nothing special in terms of combat power.

Combat power was respected in this world because the danger to one life was always close at hand, and it played a big factor for one to be welcomed by people.

That was why even a royalty like Julia, who should have no need to take up the sword, honed her power— it was so she could govern the nation by giving its people the sense of security coming from being protected by a powerful figure.

Therefore, the higher the position a person had, the higher the courage they required.
Probably because he was too specialized in survival, that demon-kin possessed little courage, which was why he sought a solution by technology.

That was what the organization named the ‘Black Sword’ was for, that was what the means that was the demonization technology was for, and with its completion, the demon-kin was trying to take over the country.

However, it paradoxically showed that unless the demonization technology was completed, the demon-kin was no different from a human which was called a frail creature.

In order for him to become the last boss in the original game, it was indispensable for him to have a base and personnel who could fully work in the next year or so.

However, now that both the base and personnel had literally exploded due to Sakurai’s idea and Nanashino’s secret maneuvering, it would take a long, long time for him to recover them.

However, Luisina couldn’t possibly know such a thing.

What she knew was that now was the time to get rid of the weakening main faction, and that there was no way she would lose against the boss even if she were to fight him.

“Good grief, starting over your life sure isn’t easy.” (Luisina)

Still, I have to do what I’ve gotta do, so the vampire walked in the dark night.

A few days later, an incident occurred in which a certain noble’s mansion collapsed with a thunderous sound.
The cause was believed to be the aging of the building.

It was announced that the servants who were in the mansion were rescued safely thanks to the efforts of several students of the adventurer academy, including Amanai Hayato and ‘Sword Saint’ Sanuki Shoichiro, who happened to be nearby, but the noble family, including the head, were unfortunately squashed by the collapsed roof and all died instantly.

Due to the incident, one of the noble families that had served the nation for many years came to an end, and the nobles broke into heated disputes concerning the territory that they had ruled.

It was feared that a blank area without a governor would be created in the nation, but the royal family declared that the territory would be incorporated as a territory under the direct control of the royal family, so the confusion was kept to a minimum.

Thus, the original Last Boss in the original game was dragged down from the stage easily without even exchanging words with the three reincarnated people despite their fate having derailed.

[1] Basically, Immortal Jellyfish has the capability of reverting back to childhood stage after having reached adulthood.
