At the royal castle

In a hallway lit by candles.

(Pounding footsteps can be heard as men dressed in long black cloaks with black gloves on their hands which hold lanterns on sticks. They have a sullen express on their faces. They are twelve in number, the Queens most trusted men who are her seers and most trusted men who are her seers. They match in a straight line and eventually enters a beautiful well lit and decorated room which is the throne room but the queen is not seated there, the throne is empty.

The men stare at themselves and then begin to converse.

The queen is not here.

We should send someone to call the queen.

That would be disrespectful sending someone to call the queen to come to us, (pauses) she is not inferior to us.

Then one us should go and beg for an audience with the queen.

Then hurry, do not tarry for a moment. Tell the queen that we have grave news.

Two of the seers hurry out of the throne room to fetch the queen while the others wait, tensed.

In the Queens Chambers

The queen is dressed in a beautiful black gown. A maid walks up to her and bows low.

Your majesty, your tea is ready.

The queen without looking up to he speaks with a voice filled with so much power and says, Let me have it.

The maid bows again and brings the tray containing the teapot and some teacups. She places it in front of the queen and pours the right amount of tea that the queen likes into a teacup, after which she drops the teapot back on the tray and then places the teacup on a saucer and gives it to the queen.

Your majesty.

The queen takes the tea, she looks at the tea and her eyes glow red, her right eye twitches a little and she drinks from the cup and smirks.

Good one woman.

Thank you your majesty, I took my time to….

Shut up! I wasn praising you for the tea you prepared, no. I was praising you for not poisoning me. She the chuckles and tells the woman, more tea.

The maid then gets the teapot and pours some more tea for the queen.

This was what the queen always do to every food, tea, water and wine that she eats. Even though that she has her tasters she trusts no one. She uses her magic to check if the food is poisoned. If the food is poisoned, her left eye twitches but if the food is not poisoned her right eye twitches.

The queen is sipping her tea gently when

one of her guards dressed in armour and a sword strapped on his belt walks in and bows low.

My queen, he bows, I am sorry for disturbing you but two of your seers are here and they say that they have something very important to tell you.

The queen who has been listening to him says, let them in then, and as for you, she turns to the maid, leave now.

The maid bows and leaves immediately as the seers walk into the Queens room.
