There was heavy rain the same night.
The rain pitter pattered on the window sill with rhythm.
It was only the beginning of October.
It was still bright and sunny yesterday and people couldn’t help but sit under the ac all day long.
However, there was a burst of wind today, showing that winter was about to arrive.

Wei Jing grabbed long sleeves and pants out of his closet.
He was still a little cold after putting it on.
After hesitating, he wore a thin jacket.

The child had short limbs and paired with his childish voice, as well as the cute Mickey Mouse design in front of his jacket, he was incredibly cute and adorable.

In comparison to Wei Jing, Wei Mei was much more unlucky.
Because he didn’t think about the change in weather, he only brought two summer outfits over.
He was half lying on the sofa right now and enjoying the heater.
He wasn’t cold right now, but other people were hot!

Wei Jing clasped a cup of warm water.
He pulled down the zippers to his jacket and glanced at his expressionless big brother, and then at his tan colored wool sweaters and jeans.
He turned around to ask, “Wei Mei, are you cold?”

“I’m not cold.” He was enjoying the warmth right now.

“Since you’re not cold, I’m going to turn off the heater.
The teacher said that it’s bad to keep the heater on for a long time.” The child said reasonably.
Even more, he asked Wei Mei already.
Once he was done talking, he turned the heater off.

Wei Mei angrily reached over to grab the remote, shouting, “I’m not cold because the heater was on.
Now that you turned off the heater, I’m cold.
Give the remote back to me!”

Wei Jing raised his right hand high up while pushing Wei Mei with his left hand, trying his best to stop him.
“But we’re hot! If you’re cold, I can give you my jacket.”

Wei Zhe raised his eyebrows as he listened to this.
His brows softened.
Wei Jing clearly included him when he said “we.”

“No! Who wants your dirty clothes?” The child’s sharp voice rang.

“I’m going to give you new clothes.
There are some clothes that I’ve never worn before.” Wei Jing attempted to reason with the child.

“No, no, no!! Give the remote back!” The child glared angrily at Wei Jing, fisting his hands.
He seemed to hate Wei Jing.
Wei Mei was a little tyrant at home and he had nowhere to vent the ball of anger yesterday, so he took it out on Wei Jing today.
It wasn’t just the problem with the ac today.
He cursed without thinking about his words, “You’re a little bastard.
Don’t think that just because you live in the residence that you can bully me.
My mother said that you’ll be kicked out of the family in a few days.
Bastard, bastard, bastard…”

Wei Jing was stunned.
Even in his past life, Wei Mei had never used these curses, especially in front of Wei Zhe.

He subconsciously placed his gaze on Wei Zhe.
It wasn’t that he was looking forward to Wei Zhe standing up for him, but…he was really used to this.
As long as his big brother was present, he would look for him whenever he encountered a problem.
He didn’t know when he started having this habit.

The words were unbearable to hear.
No one could believe that this came from a six years old.

“If he’s a bastard, then what are you? The bastard’s young brother? Little bastard?” Wei Zhe seemed to be smiling but it was faint and indifferent.
The smile didn’t teach his icy eyes.

Wei Mei staggered a few steps back, afraid.
His lips were trembling.
Wei Zhe was only a teen but he had an icy and bitter cold aura, making people scared to approach him.

Wei Jing was also a bit scared.
Deep inside, he was a bit scared of his big brother, especially when he was angry.

“Since you don’t want to wear it, then you can freeze!” Wei Zhe glanced up.
Then he said to Wei Xiao Jing who was still sitting on the sofa, stunned, “Come, sit by my side.”

Wei Jing obediently nodded.
At this time, he didn’t dare to defy his big brother, otherwise he felt as though he would be pushed into the pond.

Wei Mei stood by the sofa by himself for a while.
His face changed expressions every now and then.
The chilly wind blew into the crack of the window.
The child shivered from the cold and after hesitating for a while, he stomped on his feet and ran back into his room, not daring to defy the young man in the end.

“He scolded you? Why didn’t you retaliate?” As Wei Zhe said this, he stood up and opened the window, letting the fresh air outside blow away the stuffy atmosphere in the room.

“This…” The child scratched his head with his fair and delicate hands.
“I didn’t process the words.”

After scratching, Wei Jing couldn’t help but do it again lightly.
The injury on his head had already formed a scab.
It was slowly recovering, but it was very itchy.

“Don’t move.” Wei Zhe walked over and grabbed the child’s hand.
Seeing that there weren’t any traces of blood seeping from the white bandage, his face relaxed.
“You’re going to be the one that suffers if your skin breaks.”

“But it’s so itchy.” The child said miserably.

“Hold it in.” Wei Zhe let go.
“If I see any traces of blood, you’re going to be a vegetarian for the next week.”

Wei Zhe carelessly spit this childish but also considerate threat.
After he finished, the young man froze.
He didn’t know what was wrong with himself.
He rubbed his chest and his mood worsened.

The young man walked back to his study without a word, pursing his lips and furrowing his brows.

Wei Jing didn’t know how he offended his big brother.
Wei Jing panicked for a second before clenching his teeth and following over.

The small child followed closely behind the young man.
One was intelligent and like a porcelain doll while the other was handsome and had a pressing aura.
From afar, it was a beautiful painting.

The Wei Family’s residence had beautiful and decorative spiral staircases.
Wei Jing had become Wei Zhe’s little tail.
After a moment, he finally summoned the courage to ask, “Big brother, are you angry at me?”

“No.” Wei Zhe turned around to look at him, tucking his hand into his pockets.
“Don’t follow me.
Go back.”

Lies.
He was clearly angry.
Wei Jing thought in his heart.

But on the surface, he still acted miserable.
“Um…big brother, I’ll be very good.
I’ll do whatever you want me to do.
Don’t chase me away.
I don’t want to be alone.”

Wei Zhe hesitated for a moment before he was finally defeated.
“You can follow me but you can’t cause any trouble.”

Wei Jing smiled right then and nodded.

In the spacious study, the young adult sat on the master seat as he read the book in his hand.
From time to time, he made notes on the book.
Wei Family’s study was very big and there were all sorts of books inside.
Wei Jing looked around and chose a…graphic novel in the end, wanting to examine the composition.

After all, he already decided on his future career.
He naturally needed to work hard now.

This was a short story about an alien who wanted to destroy Earth, but ended up transforming into a cat and was pampered by the master.

It was told from the cat’s perspective.
It examined love, friendship, and family.

The graphic novel was warm and comedic.
Especially when the little fat orange cat went from wanting to destroy the earth in the previous second to being bribed by the master with dried fish, rolling around and acting cute shamelessly.

Wei Jing couldn’t help but laugh as he read this.
He flipped through the pages.
Someone wrote a column of words in the colorful graphic novel.
‘Disappointing.
You can’t even persist to achieve your goal.” The child blinked his eyes and then again.
The words…? Why did it seem a little familiar?

He eagerly flipped through the pages, not even looking at the content of the graphic novel.

As expected, there were all sorts of childish words behind the pages, written in a childish and naive tone.
He flipped to the last page of the graphic novel and at the bottom right corner of the page, there was a row of inconspicuous words.
“The orange cat gets to live a comfortable and pleasing life.
However, I can’t become like a cat.
I suddenly want to raise a cat now.”

Different from the childish words in the beginning, this row of words was written maturely, belonging to the person he was most familiar with.

The child looked up to see the young man buried in his studies.

Big brother wants to raise a cat? But in his past life, he was already 26.
He hadn’t seen a cat at all.

The pampered pet, Wei Xiao Jing, was extremely confused.

The child’s gaze was too nerve-racking and Wei Zhe couldn’t even ignore it.
He suddenly looked up and asked, “Why do you keep on looking at me?”

Wei Jing was startled and he almost shrieked.
“It’s n…nothing.”

“What are you looking at?” Wei Zhe’s eyes swept over the graphic novel that the child was holding.
His brows twitched and he said “oh no” in his heart.
He already shoved that book to the furthest corner, so how did Wei Jing still find it?

“Nothing.” Wei Jing abruptly placed the graphic novel behind his back even though he didn’t know why he did that.
He didn’t do anything bad but he had the illusion that he was caught doing something bad.
“It’s just an ordinary graphic novel.”

Wei Zhe was speechless.

The child didn’t know that every time he lied, his lies were easily seen through.
He would look around and his voice became high-pitched.
He played with his hands and emphasized on it being “ordinary.”

“What did you see?” Wei Zhe was in a good mood.
Seeing that someone was more nervous than him, he relaxed.
“Tell this big brother.”

“N…nothing.” Wei Jing exclaimed.

“Then…” The young man knocked his fingers against the table, as though coaxing him, “How did you feel after reading it?”

“I want to become a graphic novelist like him in the future.” Almost subconsciously, Wei Jing said this.
The graphic novelist must be amazing if his big brother likes him!

He was asking about his feelings, not his dream.
This silly child.

It was unclear when the rain stopped outside of the room.
The pitter pattering never stopped.
The light wasn’t on in the room and it was dim.
Wei Zhe’s face was half hidden in the dark.
Wei Jing didn’t understand him.
After a moment, the young man chuckled.
“That’s a great thought!”

Wei Jing’s face flushed from embarrassment.

Wei Zhe continued, “Since you have such a great thought, as your big brother, I should help you achieve the goal.
Tomorrow, I’ll take you to buy the tools.
You have to draw properly.
Your big brother will check it.”

Wei Jing was speechless

He seemed to have dug a pit for himself.
