Xie Xuanchen covered Mu Mingtang’s ears with his slightly warmed hands, and his calm and stable breath surrounded her, making Mu Mingtang’s mind calm.
So, after falling into Xie Xuanchen’s embrace, Mu Mingtang’s body relaxed a bit, and she watched the performance of the acrobats without being too afraid.

 Before the artist started the performance, the four of them were talking.
So, when Mu Mingtang suddenly got scared, Xie Xuanchen comforted her as if he had forgotten Jiang Mingwei and Xie Xuanji. After seeing the interaction between Mu Mingtang and Xie Xuanchen, Jiang Mingwei became dumbfounded, and she could not think what to do.

So the palace became more and more lively and still crowded with people accompanying the emperor.

Besides, Mu Mingtang was already sleepy, so without wasting time with those old men, Xie Xuanchen and Mu Mingtang left the palace.

  Xie Xuanchen took Mu Mingtang and walked away in the eyes of everyone without hesitating a bit.
As soon as they got into the carriage, Mu Mingtang let out a series of yawns.

  Xie Xuanchen looked distressed and said, “If you are sleepy, you can sleep here for a while.”

  “No, it won’t take long time to go home.
I can hold it.” Mu Mingtang said indifferently.
She felt that the distance between the palace and their home was not very long, and she could be awake on the way.
But after struggling to be awake, she fell asleep without knowing her.

  Mu Mingtang, like a chicken pecking at rice, dozed off little by little until her head slammed into the carriage wall, and she suddenly woke up.

 “What’s wrong?” She asked while rubbing her head in a daze.

  Xie Xuanchen sighed, pulled her onto his lap, and said, “It’s nothing.
I told you to sleep for a while.
But you didn’t listen to me.”

  Xie Xuanchen’s well-proportioned and powerful legs made a comfortable pillow for Mu Mingtag, so she lay down on his lap happily.

 This is so comfortable. Mu Mingtang closed her eyes and sighed.

  As a result, she didn’t know how long she had slept, and when Mu Mingtang woke up again, she found that the carriage had already stopped and she was still lying on Xie Xuanchen’s lap.

  “Are we home?” She quickly got up and asked.

  “Well, yes.” Xie Xuanchen’s voice came from up. “You were sleeping soundly, so I could not make up my mind to wake you up.”

  Mu Mingtang stared at Xie Xuanchen with her watery eyes, moved her waist a little, and complained in a low voice, “Why didn’t you wake me up? Has it been a long time?”

  Although Mu Mingtang complained, her voice was soft just after waking up.
Xie Xuanchen took care of her messy hair and said casually, “No, not so long.”

   Mu Mingtang couldn’t believe Xie Xuanchen’s words, so she hurriedly got out of the carriage, only to find that people were standing outside.

  Oh! They are already here.
How long have I slept?

  Seeing Xie Xuanchen and Mu Mingtang getting off the carriage, maids and servants immediately kowtowed: “Congratulations to the lord and princess.
Happy New Year, good luck.”

  When they arrived at their palace, Mu Mingtang was sleeping soundly, and Xie Xuanchen didn’t wake her up.
Because of that, maids and servants who were celebrating the New Year had to come outside and wait for her.

  So Mu Mingtang was very embarrassed and gave Xie Xuanchen a secret look.

 “Reward them all.” Xie Xuanchen said to the butler.

  Everyone was delighted and said cheerfully: “Thank you, Wáng ye.
Thank you, Wáng fēi.”[1]

  Mu Mingtang listened to the auspicious words all the way back to Yulintang[2], and by the time she entered the room, she was already tired and just wanted to sleep quickly.
Fortunately, the maids had already prepared hot water, so she took a bath and changed into her sleepwear.
Only then Xie Xuanchen went to take a bath.

  Mu Mingtang was very sleepy, and her eyes had already turned red.
She looked at the bathroom for a while to make sure that Xie Xuanchen would not come out, and picked up a box which was under the bed and took something out from it.

  She was about to put that thing under Xie Xuanchen’s pillow and suddenly felt that hiding things there was too hasty, so she went around the bed and found that there were still many places to hide. Then she sat on the bed and thought about the best place to use, and suddenly she heard Xie Xuanchen coming out.
