”Ugh…its cold…. ” muttered somebody , his voice clearly being heard all around the old wooden house. Some more rustling of hay was heard together with the grumbling of the one who was sleeping, but after a while that also changed.

”Gahhh, its so itchy, why the hell is it…so…itchy…..what…

Cazz opened his eyes in puzzlement and fear as he saw the unfamiliar place he was in. The musty and earthen smell tickled his nose, the ray of sunlight slightly irked him, but no more than when he found out he didn have shoes, or even socks by that matter.

”Fuck…those **ers! I knew I shouldn have trusted them. They swore they wouldn pull any weird shit up,but Im stupider for believing that. When I get my chance Ill define….hehe.hehehehe…

Cazz laughed as he hastily got up from his hay bed and opened the only wooden door in the place. He of course failed to notice all the other signs of something not being right, but he was to pissed of to notice anyway. As he walked out he was prepared to cuss at his laughing friends or even laugh himself, but what awaited him was the grim
eality of his situation. He was met with the bright races or light, the sight of a hand drawn wooden cart , and the mud filled road in front of him.

”…..

Cazz didn have any words to utter as a sinking feeling filled his stomach. As warm breeze passed by,all of Cazzs hairs stood up on their end.

………

Five days had passed away and Cazz once again woke up in the same hay bed in the same house, but compared to the day before he wasn angry, he was just scared. He reluctantly looked at his hands which definitely weren his anymore, his face that he had never ever seen since five days before, and his house that he never owned before. A reality that frightened Cazz was in front of him , making him helpless. He was begging for answers, but he was to afraid to know the truth.

”Sigh…what shitty luck. ” begrudgingly said Cazz as he hastily got up and left the house, his house, and closed the door behind with a bang.

What awaited him was the same sight as the first time he had awakened in this place, the muddy road, the bright sun rays, and the wooden cart being pulled by a man. As the man saw Cazz he put his cart down and waved at him, and Cazz as if by instinct did the same. He was of course disturbed by such action, but he went along with it as he knew that this was the better option. As they finished their waving session Cazzs face became friendly as he headed towards the middle aged man drawing the carriage. The man was wearing a relatively clean linen shirt, worn out leather boots and was wearing a cloth cap on his head to protect him from the sun. His face was rough, his nose slightly angled to the right, and his eyes were very dull if you really looked into them.

”Hey, old man Fank, how you doing today? Hope you feeling fine after yesterdays rain. ” said Cazz in an almost rehearsed tone, making the man smile.

”Bahh…you really are a pointy one , Ill give you that. You really know an old man when you see one, especially me,ain it? ”

”You don say…

”Aye, as you assumed my back and knees have been aching since the rain, and the mud road ain helping either. But its nice to have a considerate young whelp such as you in the way to help me …hahha…

*Whaaap*

The old man slapped Cazzs back hard by the sound of it, but Cazz was not surprised or showed any reaction by the slap. He only smiled and went to pick up the hand drawn cart and trotted along the mudy road. The old man on the other hand moved to the back and started to push the cart from behind.

”So, old man, do we have anything new? Is your son a father yet? ” said Cazz as he struggled slightly to draw the carriage.

”Heh, that little…..hes doing fine, its his sister Im worried about. She is as stubborn as a wild pig, doesn want to get married, doesn wasn to devote herself to god, but instead wants to become a mercenary…..she, a mercenary!? Do you believe that? ”

”Yeah, I believe that…. ” nonchalantly answered Cazz as he noted everything of interest in his memory. He knew that if he wanted to understand what was going on , he had to connect the dots somehow.

”Well, thats enough about me. How about you boy? How are youfeeling after your fathers….accident? It was a tragedy, It really was. ”

Cazz squinted his eyes as the answer was about to unintentionally come out of him, but he held himself back as he tweaked it a bit.

”Im doing fine, thank you for your consideration. Even though its been a month since he passed away, it still feels like yesterday….. ” slowly said Cazz as his breathing became rough and his footsteps heavier.

*Babum Babum….*

He could hear his heart race. It rang in his ears like a drum beat, fast and rhythmically, but the silence from the old man on the back was his concern right now. As this question was ment to throw the old man out of the loop, Cazz was afraid of something out of his expectations happening, but after 10 seconds of awkward silence that felt like minutes, the old man responded.

”Indeed, it was such a tragedy….you poor boy. ”

”Y..Yeahhh….

*BabumBabumBabum….*

His heart beat even faster as he finally let out a breath he had been holding, but his nerves were a wreck. He hadn felt such a rush of adrenaline since he was little and lied to his mother about a broken vase, blaming it at the cat of course.

The hand drawn wooden cart moved at a decent pace on the muddy road, and the two of them continued to make small talk as they headed towards the middle of the village.
