Chronicle of the dragon slayer [revamped version]

”Ahhhhh how blissful ” I said as I walked into the warm shower.

If there was one thing aside from family that I had missed the most, then it would have to be this, a warm shower, and while I liked the cold shower that I got from the waterfall, the relaxation that came from a cold shower was just on an entire different level, and with me being unable to use magic, obtaining such warm water, was but a mere dream.

About 15 minutes later, after I had fully enjoyed my shower to its fullest, I got myself dressed to go have breakfast.

”Ah before I leave I should at least check todays date, with everything that happened since I woke up, I almost forgot to check that. ” I snapped my finger and picked up my phone that sat at my bedside.

[13/5/2012] my phone showed as the date.

”Huh two days before my 11th birthday I see… ”

Knock knock knock

”Young master are have you gotten ready? ” Meyline said as she knocked on the door.

”Yeah, just a minute, I will be right there. ” I said as I put my watch on and walked out of my room.

”Lets go, I don want to keep mom and dad waiting for too long. ” I said as I walked down the hallway towards the dining hall.

”Yes sir. ” she said as she followed me.

Creak

I slowly entered the dining room with Meyline, where I saw that my parents, who were both wearing suits, had been talking to each other about something. My father with his well built frame that stood out in his black suit, fairly long, black hair, and black glasses; and my mother with her long black hair, in a custom gray suite.

”Ah Julian, come here son, we have to talk to you about something ” my father said as he smiled and looked at me.

”Hm, okay ” I said as I walked up to my seat by my father and sat down.

While I had the overwhelming urge to run up to both my parents and give them a good long hug, but I decided against that as I knew that it would only cause unnecessary worry to both of my already overly worrying parents.

”So dad you had something to say? ” I said as I spread some butter across one of the toasts that I had taken from the basket of toast on the dining table.

Placing his cup down after taking a sip of the tea in it, he said, ”Right about that, we have decided to send you to the royal academy of military sciences ”

Following up his statement, my mother spoke as she wiped her mouth, ”You will become 11 years old in two days and as such, we would like for you to attend school, so that you gain some real life experience, on how life is outside the capital ”

”Both Amanda and I have attended the academy and, as such, would like for you to go there and experience living there, without the help of everyone around you. ” my father said as he nodded his head at my mothers words

”Okay ” I said as I ate a piece of the toast.

”We know that you don want to but… huh, what now ” my father flinched as he belatedly heard my response.

”Jacob, I think he just straight up agreed ” my mother said with shock apparent on her face.

”Well that was easy, I knew he wasn overly spoiled. ” my father sad as he smiled with the most triumphant face, I think I had ever seen him with in my life.

”Julian honey, are you sure you are okay with this,not that it matters what you think, but we don want you to be too annoyed by the living conditions there. ”

”Well I am okay with it, don worry, it will be good for me anyway, so its okay. ” I said as I picked up another piece of toast and started to apply butter to it.

”Amanda, am I hallucinating? Did our lazy son just agree to go to the academy without kicking up a fuss about how annoying and difficult it would be? ” my father said with the most shocked face I think he could muster.

”Pinch me ” mom said to which dad complied.

”Ouch, yep definitely not a dream ” mom said.

”Huhhuhu ” I could barely contain my laughter as I looked at the scene,and a small tear drizzled down my eyes

Ahhh how I have missed this I thought to myself as I looked at my parents.

”Well, now onto the next topic, what do you want to get for your birthday? ”

”Hmm, I want to go to mount Tyree. ” I said as I wiped my face.

”Julian son, mount Tyree isn really the best place to go on a trip you know. ”

”Mhm I know, I don want to go there on a vacation, I just want to try climbing it, I have wanted to do that for a while now. ”

”Hmmmm, I don think that is really safe. What do you think Jacob what do you think? ”

”Uhhhh, Julian, are you sure you want this? ”

”Uhuh ” I said as I nodded my head.

”Well then okay, I will let you go, but keep yourself safe. ” my father said, as he placed his glass of water down on the table.

”Thanks dad. ”

”Never mind that, but once you return I want you to get ready as soon as possible because classes start in 3 weeks. ” he said as he waived his head and stood up.

”So when can I leave then? ” I asked as I looked at my parents.

”Hmm leave 2 days after your birthday, I have invited some of my friends over to throw sort of a fare well party for you before you leave for the academy. ” mom said as she too got up from her seat

”Okay I can do that. ” I said as I gave an affirmative nod.

”Well then son, mom, and dad have to leave for work now. ” dad said as he walked to the gate.

”Okay bye, take care ” I said as I looked at them.

”Yeah you too, ” mom said as she approached me and kissed me on my forehead before leaving.

”We will get going then ” dad said as he waived his hand and left the room.

”Young master, mind if I ask you something? ” Meyline asked as we walked through the hallway, towards my study.

”Go ahead, Meyline. ”

”Why do you want to go mountain climbing? More so at mount Tyree? ” she asked.

”Well I have my reasons, and I hear that the view from mount Tyree is quite wonderful ” I said with a smile as I looked back at her.

”Ohhhhh I see I see. ” she nodded.

”Any other questions? ”

”Ah no sir. ” she said.

”Great then could you get me some cake please, while I get some studying done. ” I said as I stood before the gates to my study.

”Yes young master. ” she said as she bowed and began to walk toward the kitchen.

”Oh by the way, could you ask Steven to come meet me before you make me my cake. ” I said as I stopped her.

”The head butler? Why? ” she asked me.

”Its about my trip, I will be needing some equipment. ” I said as I opened my door,

”Ah I see I see. ” she nodded in understanding.

”Well get going then ” I said with a laugh.

”Yes sir. ” she said as she walked off to see the head butler.

Back in my study, I sat on my chair as I looked at my desk.

”To think that is what the golden haired person meant when he said I already knew how to get stronger. ”
