Amaryllis of Crimson Gables

Quasar\'s Drift towards Comical Chaos

When the hyper secretive metropolitan vigilante Quasar Bloom first entered behind the scenes, there weren any strange occurrences yet.

What filled the airport terminal were the people meanwhile, she had been chatting over the phone. Contrary to being discrete, she was about exposed to the public as she stood on guard with her masquerade on. Masquerade─as in what one would see in fancy parties. Then complementing the accessory were her clothes decidedly veering to cosplay.

A phantom thief style embodying sexiness out of conservatism, as she showed no skin but the wrap of the spandex would make anyone brand her paradoxical.

What she shared to the public was indifference.

Despite being inside, as she told me, the embarrassment from assuming a phantom thief could devour her soul half and half.

Although Id put that problem not in my hands.

At the very least, there was a hackneyed recounting from her story down to what Yotsuba and Miss Wannai shared. Along the thinnest moment from when the explosion was heard, and alerted the whole city, darkness engulfed the airport. From where she stood, and where her sight could reach─none the luminescence to enter her retinas.

Where does that lead her?

Down the exact same curiosity that occupied Yotsuba and while Miss Wannai denied she also did, it was easy to picture her lying.

The only difference in her experience was how she started from the inside, she also had no light sources, and while she had the capacity to make conjectures, she did not. What resonated in her mind from back there─was following her feelings, featuring the ability to sense psychics lurking in the area.

Withholding the ability to sense Yotsubas psychical cast, she saw the glow of condensed flame, and ultimately avoided being sensed by them or otherwise Samuel Moreno, who is her lifelong nemesis.

Her own Kingpin, but not with the intimidating masculinity.

When she spotted the dynamic duet call out to the nefarious pretty boy, she had qualms about the turn of events. It was after having a handful of encounters already and all those equating to losses. The closest to being victorious was a fight dragged for hours, her coercing exhaustion counted as lost in the double, then hilariously leading to her most frustrating failure.

However, it surprised her to not even fathom how her nemesis fell at a swoop.

The method─his weapons against him, if replayed very crisp, was laughable instead of being worthy of applause.

Now, I feel the assessment came from her confidence─if not hitting a level of toxicity.

However, I must say she was right, let alone having her finish the words even if I don agree with her.

I did learn from Voltaire not to shut anyone down only because you don think they are being righteous.

At any rate, what continues with the events, as to answer the question from the unopposed cliffhanger, the person who called for Yotsuba and Miss Wannai was none other than her.

Quasar Bloom─or unmasked for her makeshift identity, Stephanie Sloan.

She is a sensible psychic agent, and another person who works for a secret evil-fighting organization, by the time, has no idea the duet belonged to another more fearsome than where she swore fealty for. Being someone from the audience, she thought Yotsuba and Miss Wannai were spectacular in their exploits. There wasn any soupcon of flattery nor did she piece in her mind she would corrupt them into the field. Like what was freshly phrased by a sentence one leap over, she never knew about Cosmic Horror. She did feel like they were conspicuous, but assessed that if they were opposing the syndicates─then exposing herself down the firelight would not impose complications.

Its entirely based on probability theory, but I could also imagine myself adapting the same thought process.

And now, what should be next in the sequence of events?

The disappointment put on Yotsubas face came across Quasar Bloom after her story.

Take note it was not within the imaginable interview shortly before I novelized the experience.

”So would you mind telling us now why we never heard of you? ” Frank in tone, Yotsuba asked of her─though it would be easy to piece out her playfulness, of course, at play.

Quasar Bloom was taken aback that she gave the predictable response, ”Did you even consider my status being hyper secretive here? ”

Yotsuba lightly smirked from the point, which would only be realized until years later…

”We heard you the first time, ” Miss Wannai, being the person she was, saved the conversation as she fastened a knot. ”Actually, she may have meant about us not being able to sense you until you showed yourself. ”

Stupefied, Quasar Bloom gave an askance look for nowhere.

All the while hiding her mirth, Yotsuba followed up, ”Yeah, I think I may have meant that! Mind telling me, or us, how you kept yourself under the radar? ”

”Oh! I could still use my card being hyper secretive in there, ” Quasar Bloom answered shortly─sparked with a clap. ”But Im guessing your confidence is being pulled to the ground… Ill apologize for that part, but never having outwitted Red Arrow ranks me way below. ”

Red Arrow─pointing to Samuel Moreno in the room, unconscious until a later time.

”You know, I like your style. Could it be associated with you being Quasar Bloom? ”

Lookit here, Id be curious about the brand given my nature.

However, Yotsuba veered into some other topics. Id admit I was also curious as well…

”This is cosplay, ” she clarified and contrary to my expectations, she didn fume. ”Only for undercover purposes. Me, the Quasar Bloom, doesn suit up for embarrassing outfits. Im usually under the hood too, but I won use pink. ”

”Im not wearing pink for work, ” Yotsuba justified, ”and I don suppose you can call me a worker, at all. ”

Quasar Bloom tilted her head.

Miss Wannai dittoed, effectively to say she disliked the quip.

Then without ever sharing her train of thought, she added nonsense over the other. ”Although I love those agencies who have uniforms, especially Team Rocket or maybe the Minutemen uniform. ”

”I may know what you meant there and…I respect that, really. ”

She was at a loss for words─and it could not be secret.

Although if asked whether I feel sorry for her or not, Id be damned into hell how Ive been amused.

Even so, Quasar Bloom was swift to pull herself together. ”More importantly, Id like to know how your maid defeated Red Arrow… Uh, come to think of it, I haven got your names yet! Ill be glad if! Only if its fine for you, though! ”

Thus, the spree of introductions were addressed.

”My name is Nagisa Wannai, my first names first. You already know my position, as you can see, and have said. ”

”Yotsuba Yazawa, also in the international format. ” Yotsuba came quickly to tell her name─not any extension of her hand, but a full show of her face under the pink hood. ”And Im obviously not a visionary icon behind a city or something. ”

”Do you reference a lot of Pokemon intentionally, or are they wittingly only being said at the spur of the moment? ”

Instead of giving her sweet regards, Quasar Bloom finally exposed her inner thoughts into the open field.

”Uh, sort of both! ”

”Okay, you also like Loki a lot. That is the second time! For both! ”

If it wasn chaos, then I don know what else I would use. However, the mental sharpness for Quasar Bloom to quip onto Yotsubas shenanigans tipped onto the Koyomi Araragi domain.

”And also, Im seventeen, a third year high schooler who just disappeared from school before summer break started. ”

”Now you
e just going to continue!? ”

”My favorite color is pink, as you can see. My favorite band is Orange Range, and I stan Hailee Steinfeld and Elizabeth Olsen. ”

”I see you
e dedicated to finishing your slam book entry, Miss Yazawa… ”

”And who the heck told you to mention names? Thats illegal! ” …I could have quipped for myself, but never had I expressed my opinion in the matter.

”Ah… Should I say how old I am too? ” Miss Wannai entered the fray─not having been given confirmation by Yotsuba that she stepped onto what should not be given, ”Im about six trillion years old. ”

”Six tri─ Okay, you also had me there. Like, when are you going to stop trolling me? ”

”No, I wasn being mean. I was telling the truth. ”

”I guess now you
e going to tell me you were the mentor of Najimi Ajimu until you rubbed each other wrong… ”

Miss Wannai winced from the call, showing off shy bits of her personality as if it was legal. ”That was the ninth time someone compared me to the character. Your variation being the first, six with the same wordings, and two others. Would you like to hear them all? ”

”…Its fine. ” Quasar Bloom pressed her temples─for the sake of her peace.

It was a vibrant attempt I tell you, but it meant futility at the face of two complete monsters when it comes to trolling the person they see as a comrade. The quote or for another reason, but not with the insidious agents in the name of Samuel Moreno.

Simply, they smelled no malice emanating with Quasar Bloom.

And it gave them a ticket to sway her into chaos, as weird as you hear, sense, or read.

Only allow me to clarify Miss Wannai was speaking the truth.

”Im not sure I would be amused or not but…would you even be so nonchalant revealing your true self? ” Quasar Bloom, of course, has no choice but to accept what she already heard.

”Thats rude. I wasn being nonchalant! ” Miss Wannai yelled, softly as it still sounded serene─or otherwise, cute. ”It has never been a secret, but I wonder why whoever Ive told about it doesn believe me. ”

”It might be because they think you
e not being serious, ” Yotsuba offered her own supposition.

And Miss Wannai lumped her shoulders down. ”I yearn for a world where they would take me seriously. ”

”Lookit, if you tell your tales to normal people, its to be expected…I think. ”

”Why would you assume I was telling my age to misfits? ” Miss Wannai extended for Quasar Bloom─her eyes giving the truth.

”Im sorry if I have offended you but I have good intuition. ”

Yotsuba clapped from the side. ”I like how you phrased that! ”

Quasar Bloom winced off the bat. ”Thank you…but if thought clearly, I also think telling it to others of our kind would─ ”

At the expense of the interruption, all three pairs of eyes swerved for a singular point at the floor.

While they were being ridiculous, Mister Moreno groaned from beside them.

All tied up, and sitting in a makeshift throne made out from the six javelins in his employ. The ideation would be credited wholly for Miss Wannai, being praiseworthy in respect of strength.

Like a longtime friend they kept by their party on their way to the Demon King Castle, his first question surfaced:

”How long have I been out? ”
